It's officially Spring which means it's time for the Benson Farmer's Market again! A proud Parsons family tradition, the Farmer's Market is where Grandpa and Uncle Jay get to sell their delicious tomatoes and peppers. Jay's birthday party a real shocker
Jay and Leah came up from Kansas City to see family and to celebrate his (and Kim's) birthday this weekend. Leah happened to bring with her the game "Reaction". If you're not familiar with it, players hold a handle with a button they are supposed to push as soon as the light turns green. If you push the button first, you don't get shocked. If you get shocked, it hurts. The video above was when it was turned up to extreme and was so funny that I had to load it up to YouTube. Happy birthday, Jay.

K.C. Getaway - Day 2
Day 2 started early with swimming at the water park. After lunch Ben crashed in the room with Kim while I slipped over to Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is right next door to the Great Wolf Lodge. I picked up a new digital camera because we've been having problems with our old one, which we bought before our wedding...four years ago. After that we drove down to Olathe to visit Jay in his classroom at his new school, Heritage Elementary. Jay and his fiance Leah came back to the Lodge for dinner, then we had a late night of swimming before heading back to the room. That's were Kim got to stay up late and watch the US women's gymnastics team battle in the Olympics. She loves watching the female gymnists. Anyway, here are some more pics and a video.

Thoroughly enjoying our family vacation.

Of course, Ben had to christen Jay's new classroom with a poop.

The guys.
We found Jay's first grey hair...then plucked it. He'll kill me for putting this on here.
Looking naked, but wearing a diaper, Ben is loving his mini vacation.

Kim's 10 year H.S. reunion
It's been a while since we posted last, so I thought I throw some stuff out there. Kim and Jay have been out of High School for 10 years now, so of course it was time to get together with old gals and pals to rehash the memories no matter how awkward they were. The first day of their big reunion involved dinner with the class of 98 from Central Christian High School at Grisanti's Italian Restaurant. The next day they held a picnic for all classes at Mahoney State Park. That night everyone went out for a concert at Fox and Hound. Kim and I had a blast seeing everyone again and of course everyone loved getting to see or meet Ben. Next reunion, my 10 year in 2009.

"Heeeeere's Gus"
Kim's brother Jay was out of town this last weekend, so Kim graciously volunteered us to watch Jay's dog, Gus. Gus is a Basset Hound like our two dogs. But he is also very different. Kim's dad calls him "BlunderGus". This dog is the cutest and sweetest looking Basset you'll ever see, unfortunately he's got no couth, as my late grandmother would say.The screen door to our back yard already had a few small tears in it from Gus scratching at it in months past. No big deal. It still worked fine and very few bugs were able to find the tiny openings to our living room through them. Well, on Sunday Gus decided to make on of the tiny holes a lot bigger by placing his entire giant snout through one ripping it open just enough to get his big head in the hole, ala The Shining.

Farmer's Market
Today I took Ben and my mom to the Farmer's Market. When we got there Ben was so excited to see his Grandpa and Uncle Jay selling tomato and pepper plants. This is the third year my family have been vendors at the market and I enjoy taking my son. He loves seeing Grandpa and Uncle Jay sell and I think he helps sell because the shoppers think he is the cutest.
