Bubble Bath

This was way too cute not to share.

Fall Fun

Fall is Kim's favorite season because of the beautiful colors and fun outdoor activities. Here are just a few photos from some of the fun family things we've been doing this fall.

Our church had their annual bonfire and chili cook off late last month. I had to work but Kim and Ben went and had a lot of fun with friends.

Kim and Ben hanging out with Ben's friend, Emily.

As president of the Omaha Dental Hygiene Association, Kim and some of the ODHA members participate in their annual Vala's Pumpkin Patch outreach.

Kim and Ben go pumpkin hunting in the patch near our house.

Kim found her perfect pumpkin.

Our little helper was manning the wheel barrow.

Here I am cutting my bad boy pumpkin.

So many to choose from!

Of course, Ben wanted to help wash our pumpkins.

In fact, he wanted to do it himself.

Enjoying the Autumn evening.

Ben and Lucy help Kim make our Harvest Man.

This was the final product. OOoooh, scary!!!

Grand Island

Kim needed to attend a board meeting for the NE Dental Hygiene Association last Friday so we all went with her to Grand Island for a few days. It was a great drive out there as Ben pretty much slept the whole way. Once there, Kim went off to do her duty while Ben and I got to hang out and have Daddy-Son time. That pretty much involved eating, swimming, and playing in our hotel room. The next day we did a little more swimming then drove down to Hastings and went to the children's museum there. It sure makes you appreciate all we have here in Omaha. After lunch we drove back home while listening to the Husker game on the radio. Here are some photos from our little trip.

Ben and I playing with gears at the children's museum.

His favorite was the tiny fire truck, though.

Of course, he always loves swimming.

And the best reason for staying at hotels is having fun playing in the rooms.

Jay's birthday party a real shocker

Jay and Leah came up from Kansas City to see family and to celebrate his (and Kim's) birthday this weekend. Leah happened to bring with her the game "Reaction". If you're not familiar with it, players hold a handle with a button they are supposed to push as soon as the light turns green. If you push the button first, you don't get shocked. If you get shocked, it hurts. The video above was when it was turned up to extreme and was so funny that I had to load it up to YouTube. Happy birthday, Jay.

Kim's 29th Birthday

Kim's birthday was actually on September 9th, but I'm just now getting around to posting some pictures from it. I'm thinking that Ben actually enjoyed the cake more than anyone else. Anyway, happy birthday to the most wonderful wife and mother in the world!

Husker Game Day

Fall in Nebraska means it's football season. And that means Saturday's are spent at Grandpa's where Ben helps cheer on the Big Red. He's already learned how to do the hand signal for touchdown. He's also learned how to be a real ham for the camera, too.

Play Date

Ben and his buddy Harrison had a play date last week. It mainly consisted of throwing mulch from the garden.

Some new Ben pics

I've been scolded for not supplying new photos of Ben, so here you go.

K.C. Getaway - Day 3

All good things must come to an end...unfortunately. We had such a great time at the Great Wolf Lodge that we didn't want to leave. We were getting tired, though, and missing our home. The morning started with a good swim early on before grabbing lunch and heading back to Omaha. I would definitely recommend the Great Wolf Lodge to anyone who wants to have some great family fun, although it is a little pricey. I can imagine we'll be going back again, maybe even next year. By that time I think Ben will appreciate it even more. More pics and a video.

Kim and Ben in the kiddie pool. Ben is starting to reach his fun limit in this picture.

Ben and I pose for one last photo with the bear before we head home.

Only 19 months old and already riding the water slides. I can't tell you how many times we took him up and down this thing during our 3 days.

K.C. Getaway - Day 2

Day 2 started early with swimming at the water park. After lunch Ben crashed in the room with Kim while I slipped over to Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is right next door to the Great Wolf Lodge. I picked up a new digital camera because we've been having problems with our old one, which we bought before our wedding...four years ago. After that we drove down to Olathe to visit Jay in his classroom at his new school, Heritage Elementary. Jay and his fiance Leah came back to the Lodge for dinner, then we had a late night of swimming before heading back to the room. That's were Kim got to stay up late and watch the US women's gymnastics team battle in the Olympics. She loves watching the female gymnists. Anyway, here are some more pics and a video.

Ben looking quite tall on the deck.

Thoroughly enjoying our family vacation.

Ben and Uncle Jay in his new classroom in Olathe.

Of course, Ben had to christen Jay's new classroom with a poop.

Kim and Leah hanging out in our room.

The guys.

We found Jay's first grey hair...then plucked it. He'll kill me for putting this on here.

Looking naked, but wearing a diaper, Ben is loving his mini vacation.

Kim, Ben, and Ben's life vest in the lazy river.

Ben and Kim jammin and dancin in our room during a PB&J lunch.

K.C. Getaway - Day 1

Summer is winding down, so what better time to get away and enjoy a quality family outing? Kim, Ben and I decided to take a three day trip to Kansas City and stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. If your not familiar with "the Lodge", it's a huge hotel and indoor family oriented water park. Perfect for those pale skinners who battle basil cell carcinoma and want to have fun with their wife and toddler. After a 2 and a half hour drive from Omaha, we were quickly in the water and having fun. Ben was a little apprehensive at first, so we started with the lazy river. It didn't take long after that and he was all over the place. Check out the pictures and video.

Trunks...check. Binky...check. All set Mommy!

Pale like daddy, but hairless.

Two hotties ready to party.

Nobody knows when I pee in the pool.

Ben and Kim climbing through Fort McKenzie

This was cool. At the top of Fort McKenzie was a huge bucket constantly being filled with water. About every 4 minutes it would reach capacity, tip over, and dump 1,000 gallons of water from 3 1/2 stories high onto the park-goers below. It was fun...and painful.
